RESIDENTIALS
SAUDA'S RESIDENTIAL
Saudas Residential project is a bespoke residential endeavor catering to a diaspora client’s desire for a 3-bedroom house in Kasese. The design includes a self-contained master bedroom, a dedicated laundry room, a children’s room, a guest room, a lounge, a kitchen, and a dining area. The client, prioritizing a connection to nature, specifically emphasized the need for ample outdoor green space to evoke a sense of freedom and vitality in the design.
Situated in Kasese, the site offers breathtaking views, with the Mubuku irrigation scheme to the South and the Rwenzori mountains to the North. The prominence of these vistas influenced the strategic placement of the lounge and master bedroom, creating a central location to maximize the appreciation of the scenic surroundings.
The architectural intent revolves around optimizing views and functionality while mitigating the impact of solar exposure within the building. Drawing inspiration from the gable roof forms in the neighborhood, the roof design integrates seamlessly with the landscape. The overarching goal is to create a unique, cost-effective space with an open spatial concept that complements the undulating nature of the nearby mountains.
The client’s primary concern was to establish a serene space for relaxation and quality time with her children. To meet this requirement, the design incorporates an open spatial concept that seamlessly connects the interior with the outdoor green space, fostering a sense of tranquility and freedom.
Saudas Residential project encapsulates a diaspora client’s vision for a distinctive yet cost-effective residence in Kasese.
